Suzuki Volusia

submitted by Barramedic

Just to add to throttlebunnys comments on this bike. I have the 2001 model and other than replacing the pair valve it has been trouble free riding for me. I am 5'3" on a good day and I have no trouble with seat height or the weight of the bike. Although it looks like a much bigger bike( have been asked many times what size the bike is with disbelief showing when I say it is an 800) it is easy to standup off the kickstand and handles like a dream on the road be it highway or twisty back roads. The seat is the most comfortable one I have been on including the rear seat of my hubbies Gold Wing. Have put many kilometers on this bike and plan for many more.

As far as colours go mine is the red/black combo which looks great. I don't believe it is available anymore. I find they are turning to more blah combinations this year. They need something with a little more punch.

The Suzuki accessories are very expensive and I turned to National Cycle for a Windshield that looks and works great. Also have put a tank bra on to protect the tank as you have to lean over the tank from the seat to turn the ignition key. That is my only complaint about the bike. Under the seat would be better if not on the handlebars. Have also added Suzuki floorboards which help make a comfortable ride even better.

I highly recommend this bike for women looking to move into a bigger bike. It has the good looks, the handling and you sure can't beat the price.
